The continuous sand filter equipment is used in tertiary wastewater treatment to remove minute SS in water. With physical choked flow and settlement, suspended materials can be captured and separated from water. The lower limit of removed suspended particles is 10μm.

Workflow of continuous sand filter equipment:

Cooling water comes to the sand filter equipment through the inlet tube and to the water segregator and then is evenly distributed on the entire sand layer. After being filtered through quartz sand, clean water discharges from the weir.

Workflow of washing sand:

Dirty sands settled on the bottom of the sand filter tank will be pumped to the top of the tank with rising of air. Then, they are evenly guided into a curved pipe sand washer through the sand distributor. Also, with the potential variance, returned water flows in the sand washer and continuously washes sands. During the reverse washing or cleaning process, operation can be continuous and no filter media are required to be replaced.
